What to do in Lunéville in a day

When to visit and for how many days?

It is preferable to visit Lunéville for half or a full day during spring or summer.This is so you can enjoy the water fountains, the colorful flowers and trees. Among other great destinations is the castle’s very own picturesque garden named “Jardin des Bosquets” .Not only a sight to behold ,but also a place to enjoy a lovely picnic.

In addition, from July till September, you can watch the beautiful Sound and Light show on the façade of the castle!

Top things to do

During the day, visit the 18th century baroque style Saint-Jacques church and the historical Lunéville castle. The castle is open daily except Tuesdays, from 10 am till noon and from 2 to 6 pm  . The entry fee is 9 euros. It is free for kids under the age of 18 and for everyone every first Sunday of the month.the free gardens are always open starting 6 am .However ,from October through April,they close at 7 pm and the rest of the year , at 10 pm.

You can also visit the “Conservatoire des Broderies de Lunéville” (Conservatory of embroidery of Lunéville).  A free entry museum open daily, except for Tuesdays.Open from 2 pm till 6 pm and 2.30 pm till 5.30 pm during winter.  You will see a presentation of ancient haute couture dresses such as Elie Saab, Ungaro, Docquin, C. Dior, and L. Scott. Demonstration by young embroiderers will take you through the history of embroidery from 1880 till the present . You can also buy from their shop embroidery’s tools and materials
