Exploring Pont-a-Mousson

Our journey to Pont-a-Mousson began with a stroll around the town. We passed by Place Duroc, Saint-Laurent Church,  and eventually found ourselves crossing a picturesque bridge that provided great views of the Moselle river. 

As we walked across the bridge, we were immediately struck by Saint Martin Church, a magnificent example of Gothic architecture that dates back to the 14th century.

Abbaye des Prémontrés

We made our way to the Abbaye des Prémontrés, which was just a short walk away (around 5 minutes). When we entered the Abbaye we were amazed by its grandeur!  The Abbaye des Prémontrés was the highlight of our trip. 

The arched corridors, beautiful staircases, and magnificent interior architecture left us in awe. The Abbaye is also home to beautiful gardens overlooking the Moselle river, offering a great place to relax and enjoy the views.

Useful tips for visiting Pont-a-Mousson

1. There are frequent trains from Nancy and Metz to Pont-a-Mousson. The trip takes around 15-30 minutes and costs between 6 and 10 euros for a round trip. 

2. Wear comfortable shoes. Pont-a-Mousson is a small town, and most of the attractions are located within walking distance.

3. If you have some extra time, consider visiting the Musée Au Fil du Papier, a museum that showcases the history of papermaking in Pont-a-Mousson. 

4. If you are a foodie, be sure to try the local specialty of the region, Quiche Lorraine
